Early Learners Group
18 months to 2 ½ year olds.
Parents attend with their children and introduce them to the Montessori environment with the guidance of the teacher. The session is 1.5 hours once a week.
Children have the opportunity to choose individual activities for themselves, as well as joining others in outside play and in group songs and music. This group allows very young children to gain independence through simple activities and introduces them to the routines of the Montessori classroom. It is also a wonderful opportunity for parents and carers to experience the Montessori environment with their child.

Toddler Group
2½ to 3½ year olds
Children attend for 2 hours once or twice a week without a parent and receive guidance by the teacher. The classroom and activities is similar to the preschool room, but with a focus on the simpler activities suited to this age group. Children choose their own individual activities, with help and guidance from the teacher and join group songs, stories and music.

Pre-school
3 to 6 year olds
The pre-school or cycle one room is similar to the classrooms used for the younger groups, but provides the full range of Montessori activities. During each session children are free to choose activities that interest them, working alone or with friends. Children are taught how to use the equipment as they show signs of readiness. The teacher will present a new activity to a child individually and assist them until they are able to confidently attempt it alone.
Children spend time in each session working on their own or in small groups. Children also go outside for play and participate in group time for songs, stories, discussion and music. Outside play is usually scheduled on a particular day each week.
Children usually attend for 9-12 hours a week over 3 or 4 days. Please refer to the 'Fees' page for details on days and hours. You may phone the office and speak with the Administrator about the timetable and availability of places for your preferred days of attendance.

Extended Day
The Extended Day Program offers additional hours for children over 4. This program runs in conjunction with the preschool program with extended day sessions providing a different environment and focus for older children. The teacher works with a smaller group of children on the more complex activities that extend their developing literacy and numeracy skills and understanding of geography, botany and culture.
